Mooring Lines

Double Braid Mooring Lines

The overwhelming first choice for most mega yachts, double braid delivers the ideal balance of strength, stretch, and handling comfort. Its inner core and braided outer jacket work together to absorb shock loads smoothly, while maintaining a supple feel in the hand. This makes docking maneuvers more predictable and secure — even under the heavy loads of a large vessel.

Available in Polyester (low stretch, high durability) or Nylon (higher elasticity for shock absorption), double braid is trusted worldwide for its reliability at the dock. Standard colors include Black, Navy, and Grey, providing both function and a refined, uniform look that complements any yacht’s profile.

12-Plait Mooring Lines

An excellent alternative to double braid, 12-plait construction offers a smoother, more flexible hand and exceptional resistance to kinking or hockling. The open braided structure allows the line to run freely through fairleads and over deck gear, making it especially well-suited for handling long lengths or for yachts that value ease of flaking and stowage.

Available in Polyester (for maximum durability and low stretch) or Nylon (for superior elasticity and shock absorption), 12-plait delivers comparable strength to double braid but with a slightly softer, more pliable feel. Standard colors include Black, Navy, and Grey, ensuring a uniform and professional look alongside other deck equipment.

HMPE Core / Polyester Jacketed Mooring Lines

For the ultimate in strength-to-weight performance, HMPE (High Modulus Polyethylene) core lines with a protective polyester jacket are the choice of yachts that demand cutting-edge technology. These lines provide exceptional tensile strength while being significantly lighter than traditional double braid or 12-plait options, reducing bulk on deck and making handling easier for crew.

The polyester jacket offers abrasion resistance and UV protection, ensuring long service life even in demanding environments. This combination delivers a rope that is stronger, lighter, and more durable, with minimal stretch — ideal for large yachts where line performance is critical.

Available in standard colors Black, Navy, and Grey, HMPE/polyester jacketed lines provide a sleek, modern look to match their advanced engineering. For best performance, these lines should always be paired with a detachable stretcher grommet to aid in shock absorption and extend the life of both the line and your deck hardware.

Finishing Touches

Every mooring line deserves details that protect your investment and reflect your yacht’s refinement. To safeguard the eyes of the lines, we offer three levels of chafe protection

  • CORDURA® ballistic nylon sleeves – durable, cost-effective protection with a rugged finish.
  • Dyneema® abrasion-resistant covers – sleek, low-profile, and exceptionally tough.
  • Hand-stitched leather sleeves – the timeless choice, combining elegance with unmatched longevity.

To complete the presentation, we add custom whipping that not only seals and protects the rope ends but also provides color coding for easy identification. Embroidered length indicators can be integrated directly into the whipping, giving crew instant reference when selecting the right line for each mooring.

The result is a mooring system that is functional, durable, and visually tailored to match the prestige of your vessel.
